Aste

Terms of use

These are the rules for using Aste. Using the app means you accept them.

Last updated 3 September 2026

Aste is published by Alexhander Törnqvist, an individual sole trader in Sweden. In these terms, Aste means the app and the service behind it, and you means the person using it.

What Aste is

Aste builds a running training plan for a race you name and adjusts it as your training goes. It prescribes runs with target distances, target paces and heart-rate ranges, complementary strength sessions, and a daily calorie target with protein, carbs and fat to support them. You record runs in the app or on your watch and log meals by photo or by hand, and the plan reads what you actually did.

The plan is produced by a fixed calculation. The same inputs give the same plan. What changes is your training: miss sessions, or run faster or slower than target, and the calculation runs again on the newer numbers.

The coach's written notes work differently. The briefings, debriefs and meal notes are written by a language model from a small set of numbers about your training. That text can be wrong. The numbers on the screen are the prescription, and if a note reads differently from them, the numbers are what the plan says.

Aste is a training app, not medical care

Aste asks what your body is like and whether you are carrying an injury. It asks for your height, weight, age and sex, for what you have been running, and whether you have no injury, a niggle, or are coming back from one. It uses those answers to decide how far and how fast to start you and how quickly to build. That is a training model applied to the numbers you gave it.

It is not a medical assessment. Nobody examines you. Aste does not diagnose anything, does not treat anything, and does not supervise your training. The injury question changes how conservative the plan is. It is not read by a clinician and it does not tell you what is wrong with you.

Aste does not replace a doctor or a physiotherapist. Talk to one before you start if you have a heart or lung condition, if you are pregnant, if you are recovering from injury, illness or surgery, or if it has been a long time since you trained. Keep talking to them while you train. If a clinician tells you something different from what the plan says, follow the clinician.

If something hurts, stop. Stop the session and get medical advice if you have chest pain, if you feel faint or dizzy, if you cannot breathe properly, or if a pain is sharp or will not settle. Do not finish a prescribed session to keep the plan intact. A missed run is something the plan handles on its own.

Who can use it

You need to be 16 or older. Aste handles health data, and 16 is the age this service is set at. If you are under 16, do not create an account.

You also need to be able to enter into a binding agreement where you live, and to use Aste only where it is legal to do so.

Your account

An account belongs to one person. Your plan is built from your numbers, so a shared account produces a plan that fits nobody using it.

You sign in with an email address and password, with Apple, or with Google. Keep your sign-in details to yourself. What happens under your account is your responsibility. If you think someone else has got into it, change your password or revoke Aste's access with Apple or Google, then write to support@asteperformance.com.

What you put into Aste

The runs, meals, photos, notes and plan settings you enter stay yours. Creating an account does not hand any of it over to Alexhander Törnqvist.

Aste needs permission to handle that content in order to run the service for you, and it takes no more than that. The permission covers storing your content, showing it back to you, and processing it to build and adapt your plan. It covers sending a meal photo to the model that estimates what is on the plate, and sending a small set of numbers about your training to the model that writes the coach's notes. The privacy policy sets out what is sent and to whom.

Aste does not publish your content, does not sell it, does not show it to other users, and does not use it to train models. The permission lasts as long as the content is in your account. Delete the account and the permission ends with it.

What you put in has to be yours to put in. Do not upload photos of other people who have not agreed to it, and do not upload anything unlawful.

Paying for Aste

Aste is in testing and nothing is being charged. The app shows a subscription screen with prices on it. That screen does not take payment, no subscription is active, and no card is held.

This section describes how paying for Aste will work once it starts. It applies from the point that billing is switched on, and you will be told before anything is charged.

Paid subscriptions will be sold as in-app purchases through the App Store. Apple takes the payment under Apple's own terms, and the App Store shows the price, the billing period and the renewal date before you confirm.

A subscription renews until you cancel it. You cancel in your Apple account settings rather than in Aste. A free trial becomes a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.

Refunds are Apple's to give, so ask Apple through the App Store. Alexhander Törnqvist cannot charge, cancel or refund an App Store purchase for you. This does not affect any refund you are entitled to as a consumer under the law where you live.

Prices can change. A change applies from the next billing period, and Apple tells you about it before it takes effect.

Apple's part in this

Aste is distributed through the App Store, and when you download it Apple's terms apply to that download. Apple is not a party to this agreement, is not responsible for Aste or for supporting it, and its only obligation if the app does not work is the refund its own terms provide for. Apple may enforce these terms against you as a third party.

Using Aste fairly

An account used against these rules can be suspended or closed. Where it is reasonable to give notice first, you will get it.

Testing, changes and stopping

Aste is in testing. Screens change and features arrive and disappear. The engine behind the plan is still being corrected. The service can be unavailable, and there is no uptime commitment.

You can stop at any time. Delete your account from Security & privacy in your profile. Deletion runs immediately and it is permanent: your account and everything stored against it go, with no grace period and nothing to undo. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is removed and when. If you want a copy of anything, ask at support@asteperformance.com before you delete.

If Aste is discontinued, you will be told by email, with enough notice to get a copy of your data out. If you have paid for a period you can no longer use, ask Apple for a refund through the App Store.

What you can hold Aste to

Aste is provided as it is. The plan is a calculation from the numbers it has. It does not promise you a race time, a finishing position or a change in your body. Nutrition targets are estimates, and a meal read from a photo is an approximation of what was on the plate.

Alexhander Törnqvist is not liable for loss that could not reasonably have been expected to follow from a failure of the service, for training decisions you take against medical advice or against what your body is telling you, or for data that is gone because you deleted your account.

Some liability cannot be limited and this document does not try to. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that mandatory law does not allow to be excluded.

If you are a consumer, your statutory rights survive these terms. The mandatory consumer law of the country you live in applies whatever this document says, and nothing here removes those rights or cuts them down.

Which law applies

Swedish law governs these terms.

That does not take away the protection you have as a consumer at home. If you live in another country in the EU or the EEA, the mandatory consumer law of that country still applies to you. You can always bring proceedings in the courts where you live, and any proceedings brought against you will be brought there.

If something goes wrong and it cannot be settled directly, a consumer can take it to an out-of-court dispute body. In Sweden that is the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN). Elsewhere in the EU and the EEA it is the equivalent body where you live.

Changes to these terms

These terms change as the app changes. The date at the top says when they last did. You will be told by email before a change that materially affects you takes effect. If you do not accept a change, stop using Aste and delete your account.

Reaching a person
